Diane Foley M.D.

Dr. Diane Foley attended medical school at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. She had previously studied molecular biology as an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and then received a Ph.D. in molecular genetics from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. However after those years of basic science research, she was drawn to a career that would have more immediate results and more day to day human interactions, and decided to study medicine.

After medical school, she interned in general surgery at U.C. San Diego and did an anesthesia residency at UCLA. She has been board certified in anesthesiology since 1986. Her lifetime fascination with Asian cultures led her to try acupuncture treatments as a patient, and after experiencing its effects herself she pursued formal training in medical acupuncture. She trained first in French Energetics acupuncture with the Helms Medical Institute, and has also studied Five Element acupuncture and Korean Hand Therapy. After more than twenty years of hospital-based anesthesia practice, she opened an office-based practice limited to acupuncture.

Dr. Foley’s practice at the Centre for Life clinic has a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere where patients can receive the time and attention they deserve. She enjoys treating a wide variety of whole body, medical and pain-related conditions. Her patients have benefited from her gentle and relaxing treatments. Dr. Foley believes that combining acupuncture with modern Western technology can create a health care environment that enhances wellness.
